During his time in Thunder Road's Street Stock division, Eddy turned himself from a struggling, all-wreckers-no-checkers
type of racer into one of the smoothest and most consistent racers in any division in Vermont.
Eddy began racing when he turned 18 in 1998, and had a hard enough time finding the corners, say nothing
of qualifying for races. In 1999, he took his first heat race win, and began showing signs of improvement. By
2000, Eddy was a legitimate Top 10 threat, earning his first trophy for a 3rd-place finish in July, and finishing 7th in the
annual 50-lap special in August.
After battling a severe illness for most of 2001, Eddy earned a popular first career win
in September at the New England Dodge Dealers Milk Bowl, the biggest event of the year. The next season, Eddy earned
his second career win in June, took third in the Milk Bowl, and ended the year 12th overall.
In his final season of racing, 2003, Eddy never ranked lower than eighth in points, and finished a strong
fourth overall. He took his third career win in the August 50-lap special, and received the Ed Carroll Memorial Street
Stock Sportsmanship Award at the annual awards banquet in January 2004.
Many drivers and fans feel that if Eddy returns to the driver's seat, he'll be one of Vermont stock car
racing's brightest stars. For now, he works as a head mechanic on the cars of Jason Piche, Shawn Sicard, and Rachel
and Chuck Beede.
